THE PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN OF THE NINETEENTH EDITION
Marcello Mastroianni is the protagonist of the official image of the nineteenth edition of the Festival. The photograph is a tribute to the great actor one hundred years after his birth. Mastroianni is portrayed on the set of Federico Fellini's 8½ in one of his most iconic roles, Guido Anselmi, a director in full creative impasse. The shot, taken by Gideon Bachmann (© Archivi Cinemazero Images – Pordenone), immortalizes Mastroianni wearing the famous black hat, heavy-framed glasses on his face, a whip and a megaphone in his hand: a memorable character, magnificently interpreted, in a film awarded with two Oscars®, an essential touchstone for any work on the effort and magic of cinema.
