O n 23 August 2026, Kazakhstan will hold the first election of members of the Kurultai following the entry into force of the new Constitution. This will be the country’s first nationwide electoral campaign to form its new supreme representative body. The outcome of the vote will determine the composition of the Kurultai, whose members will serve five-year terms, adopt legislation and participate in addressing issues of national importance.  A total of seven political parties are participating in the elections: Adilet, the Nationwide Social Democratic Party (OSDP), the Baitak Green Party, the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, Auyl, Ak Zhol, and Respublica.
